The purpose for the job:

UNICEF is implementing a comprehensive package of interventions in selected municipalities in the country including from the eastern region-focused on enhancing access to maternal, Newborn, and Child Health, Nutrition and WASH services. COVID 19 has increased the workload manifold including awareness of COVID-19 prevention and Covid vaccination. The health system is currently faced by human resource gaps in the provision of responsive services. These gaps are huge in the East, especially in hard-to-reach Municipalities which need special attention and support. Therefore, UNICEF Libya is seeking the services of a CSD officer for its specific programmes focus on Health, Nutrition, and WASH program implementation, monitoring and
reporting from East Libya under Benghazi FO.
How can you make a difference?

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Filed office and technical supervision of the Chief Child survival the consultant will;
Fulfil technical responsibilities in the east for quality and timely implementation of all Health, Nutrition, and WASH activities as per AWP, under the direct supervision of the Chief of Field Office and technical guidance from Chief CSD and the team from the section.
Regular monitoring and provision of relevant and strategic information shared to support the Health & Nutrition and WASH Programme.
Contribute to the timely preparation of updates in coordination with relevant partners and under the overall guidance of the Chief of CSD and section team.
Effective coordination and working relationships with internal and external counterparts focused on Health, Nutrition, and WASH systems’ strengthening coordination and emergency /epidemics response during national response for;
a) National Coordination framework implementation
b) Risk Communication and Community Engagement activities in East
c) For Implementation of Infection Prevention and Control activities in the east in coordination with the WASH team
Coordination with MOH and WASH teams to maintain essential health services at the health
facilities.
Support to EPI program and COVID Vaccination scaleup ;
o Support continuity of regional, municipality and health facility task forces
o Facilitate the development of Microplans at three levels as and when required
o Regularly report the progress and contribute to the implementation of planned activities
Undertake Monitoring of health facilities and WASH-supported sites supported through UNICEF and submit monitoring report highlighting any issues with recommended actions.
Assist in achieving planned results envisaged in CSD Annual Work Plan-suggest on adjustments and changes on project implementation related to Health, Nutrition and WASH Programmes, to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Prepare monthly reports highlighting key achievements and challenges and submit them to the supervisors for review.
Participate in a relevant meeting arranged by LCO/the CSD sect/ Field office.
Prepare for donors' visit, meetings, presentations related to CSD work at the FO level as per
guidance from CFO and section chief.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:
University degree in Public Health and Nutrition, Child Development, Social Science, International Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines


Experience:
- A minimum of one year of professional work experience in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Health, Nutrition, and WASH programmes.
- Background/familiarity with Emergency is an asset.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic is required
