Purpose of the job

Define OEG data management & transformation strategy, via desigining & validating the End-to-End Data Eco-System, Target Architecture and data pipeline interfaces (real-time, batch, on-demand, streaming)
Set the roadmap and lead the transformation program for executing the set data strategy.
Lead insource/outsource teams to transform from current Legacy silos into integrated and optimized Architecture.
Transform to a Hybrid Enterprise Data Warehouse, Big data, Data Lake systems and Dimensional models using both innovative data tools and relational models to support optimized reporting solutions
Duties and responsibilities

1. Lead the design of Target Architecture and implementation of transformation program to achieve it, directing the evaluation of strategies and policies to ensure OEG vision & Business requirements are being met.

2. Design the competitive data architecture, including framework, principle, transformation roadmap and lead the delivery team to realize an optimized solution.

3. Create robust, scalable, optimized and sustainable data architecture that supports Orange Egypts' vision and the digital footprint as well as business requirements and provides for future expansion

4. Identify Industry trends and areas of innovation in data tools and techniques and recognize appropriate timing for adoption.

5. Work closely with Executive Management, internal Data factory peers and customer resources to ensure a smooth transition from the initial to the target unified Architecture.

6. Present and share Transformation program progress to relevant stakeholders including C-level thru regular steering committees

7. Interface with Orange group to align eco-system tools, and standardize built solutions

8. Re-engineer existing physical data structures and recommend efficiencies as it relates to data storage and retrieval

9. Design optimal data lake and analytics platform to fulfill the business/technical requirement. Enable Artificial and business intelligence tools and platforms to both BI Analysts and data scientists.

10. Identify the gap between business requirement and data architecture and propose solution to resolve or shorten the gap.

11. Build integrated Enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Lake models using both Hadoop and relational models to support optimized reporting solutions

12. Work closely with DBAs, IT experts and data lake resources to help ensure the physical design meets the functional and performance requirements of the applications utilizing the data

13.Collaborate with ETL, BI and API developers on data mapping and report/application design

Education





BS/MS in Computer Science or software engineering field






Experience

10 to 15 years working experience with focus on data architecture (5 years at least on management level).
Deep experience on data architecture, industry solution and program management include:
Solid knowledge in traditional data warehouse and big data.
Big data architecture design and implementation, Enterprise Data Lake and e.g. enterprise level Hadoop+R+ enabled visualization & analytics projects BD & Implementation experiences a plus.
At least 2 large scale data management and governance or big data implementation projects experience for large enterprises (As data architect or program manager).
Understand the industry innovation trend and application scenarios of new technologies such as AI and convert them into the basis of designing.
Hands-on experience in architecture and implementation of an enterprise Data Lake using a major Hadoop distribution: Hortonworks, MapR, etc.
Experience in AI, BI and machine learning projects
Knowledge Teradata DWH, clickhouse, Flink, Qlikview is a PLUS
Hands-on experience with Big Data & datalake technologies (batch & real time) in Hadoop ecosystem (such as Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Flume, Ozie, Avro, YARN, Kafka, Scala, Storm Apache Spark and Apache Ni-Fi)
Deep understanding of cloud and hybrid-cloud computing infrastructure and platforms.
Knowledge of or experience with NoSQL databases, such as:
Key-Value Store (Cassandra, Redis, S3)
Columnar (H-base, Cassandra)
