TotalEnergies has developed a strong expertise in oil and biofuels, natural gas and electricity trading. Trading entities are based in Geneva, Paris, Houston and Singapore.
TotalEnergies installed its European trading hub across in Geneva, which now bring together very large teams around trading activities: TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping (T&S) and TotalEnergies Gas and Power (TGP).

In this context, we are looking to hire our new Senior Distillate Trader to join TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping (T&S).

Activités
Job Dimension:

Business Data: coordinates with counterparts, other traders, operators, contract managers, shipping, trading central desk. This position focalizes on a worldwide scope.

Activities:

To trade physical cargoes from term contracts or spot purchases & sales.
To optimise scheduling in order to monetise optionality.
To identify and implement trading arbitrage opportunities. Participate in trade negotiation to full execution and loading from / delivery into the relevant terminals.
To develop personal and contractual relationship with market counterparts and relevant operators within the open and competitive marketplace.
To support chartering of vessels and booking capacity Ops & Shipping Desk when necessary.
Anticipate, evaluate and review the impact of its trades with the teams for risk and value and the Ops & Shipping Desk for operational adequacy.
To coordinate its actions with other offices when needed.


Accountabilities:

Accountable for its contribution to the Middle distillates Desk PnL and profitable growth of portfolio and trading strategies
Responsible for the respect of the contracts (spot, long-term, short-term, shipping) relevant to its activity and trades .
Comply with delegated Trading limits and Company procedures (HSE, Vetting…)
Operates to the highest standards of compliance, safety, ethics and business excellence.
Develop supplier and customer relationship and use innovation to enhance our trading tools.
Profil du candidat
University educated level in relevant subjects (maths, finance, business…).
More than 7 years of experience in trading and relevant previous work experience on a front office position in of one of the major oil companies, mastering Asian, middle east and African flows imports. Strong paper trading skills are also required.
Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with proven record of accomplishment.
Knowledge and experience in shipping and trading operations (including product storage), and risk analysis.
High-energy drive, resistant to stress, intensive work capacity, strong communication skills and team spirit required, with highest standards of business integrity.
Demonstrated autonomy and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of a second language is essential (ideally mastering French and English)
This post involves travel on short notice and eventually geographical mobility.
